Well I haven't been here in a while.
And I feel like a slacker.
But hey, what's new?
There has been a lot going on these last 2 weeks, and I've reached the end of dead week feeling tragically overwhelmed and well, dead.
I feel like no matter how hard I tried to stay caught up in this class, I was always one step behind.
But because of this I also learned a lot about what I need to do in order to better time manage and what amount of time I need to produce quality work.
With the looming final portfolio I feel as though I am already running out of time and energy. However I come equipped to the project with an idea in mind and somewhat of a execution plan. I know what three I want to expand on. (I think).
I know I'm going to use my narrative because it's that form of writing that I really excel at. I am a story teller by nature so, telling my own is one that I thrive at. I will most likely expand on my Annotated bibliography, because it was one that I received a really good grade on, but I feel like that is boring.
To go the safe route and use my writing process essay? That really is the question, because like the narrative, I thrive at that kind of writing. And I received a lot of comments on how to improve it, so I could use those as stepping stones.
I might also use my Informative essay just because it was already long to begin with.
As of now you can probably tell I'm rambling in order to reach my 1000 word requirement. And that is very much so the truth, because I forgot my personal journal in Portland and I am in Woodburn so until I go back I cannot write in that.
I should probably get off here and work on this final or one of the other 3 I have.
I hope all of you are stayin alive during this week!
Good luck with finals. :)
I also had trouble keeping up with this class, especially the blogging and commenting. I often had thoughts of just giving up, and sometimes did for a few hours, but then realized I had to continue in order to achieve my goals. We are both almost at the finish line and it will feel so good to put this class behind us. Keeping working hard and stay motived, it will be worth it in the end. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI think including the annotated bibliography for me is a good piece because I can see all the sources I put into my project and how each one of them contributed to view my topic from a different angle. I will also be including my informative because of the script and the powerpoint slides I made make a nice combination to add to my portfolio. Good Luck to you.

I also left "dead week" feeling dead. No teachers actually use dead week to prepare for finals, it's all just more and extra. Always. They should stop calling it that.
ReplyDeleteEveryone keeps talking about this 1000 word thing. I have not ever paid attention to how many words I've written, I've just consistently kept up with my blog and personal journal and assumed it's been enough. I wonder if that's bad... especially because I cannot find my personal journal everywhere. Of course I would lose it a week before it's due, after writing in it religiously for 2.5 months. ARGGGGG.
Lacy it looks like you're on a good trajectory. Keep up the good work and we'll get out of this alive. :)

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI would say that school is hard to manage especially college though. I learned to manage and prioritize my time by experience. I used to give more time on my student leadership activities more time. We learn by experience to manage in everything we do that is important to us... Good Luck on finals
